Properties Under Your Control
For any site, app, or property under your control, or that of your affiliate or client, the following obligations apply to users in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland.
You must obtain end users' legally valid consent for:
- the use of cookies or other local storage, where legally required;
- the collection, sharing, and use of personal data for ad personalization.
When seeking consent, you must:
- retain records of consent provided by end users;
- offer clear instructions to end users on how to revoke consent.
You must clearly identify each party that may collect, receive, or use personal data via your use of Google products. You must also provide easily accessible and prominent information about each party’s use of this data.
Properties Under a Third Party’s Control
If your use of or integration with a Google product results in sharing personal data from users of a third-party property, you must use commercially reasonable efforts to ensure the third-party operator meets the same consent and disclosure requirements. A third-party property is any property not under your, your affiliate’s, or your client’s control, and not already governed by a Google policy agreement.
